Jesus invites everyone to follow him and he very intentionally welcomes and includes children. We partner with families in nurturing each child's personal experience of and connection to God. Children often encounter God in the midst of their everyday lives as well as in the stories of scripture. We foster a community of children who explore the ways God delights in them and who grow to respond to that love by trusting in Jesus. We encourage play, wonder, curiosity and connection with creation, themselves and one another.
Our Kids begin with their families in the whole community worship gathering. After musical worship toddlers and elementary children are invited to their classes. Children are always welcome in our worship gathering. We have a "Family Room" with a speaker and a window into our sanctuary for those with young children who would prefer a bit more privacy.
Toddlers enjoy flexible play, story and loving attention by experienced aunties and uncles. We are delighted to welcome your young child and we are prepared to be attentive to their needs at this important developmental stage. We are mindful of allergies and open to accomodations for individual needs.
Pre-school and elementary children gather for story time focused on scripture and then wonder and discuss that scripture together. For much of our time together children work individually or in small groups on projects or activities that interest them. The adults support their exploration and discovery. Our children can explore scripture using beautiful hand crafted materials. We encourage play and discovery using a large variety of art supplies. We also have a rich library of scripture based and Christian themed books. Games and group projects are also often available. We have a great play structure and yard space and encourage free play each Sunday morning as well.
We treasure our kids and youth and take their safety seriously. We are mindful of physical, emotional and spiritual safety choosing known and trusted adult leaders. Our regular volunteers are background checked, fingerprinted and regularly trained.
