In Yellowstone National Park the most famous attraction is "Old Faithful!" It's not the biggest nor the most powerful geyser in the park, but it's the most popular tourist attraction because of its regularity and consistency. Of all the attributes that people may possess, be it genius or competence, faithfulness always tops the list. In Sunday's message God demonstrates His goodness and faithfulness to Hosea.

"The greatest ability is Dependability!" - Dr. Bob Jones Sr.

Reflection questions:

  1. Pastor Ben read a quote from C.S. Lewis when Lucy asks about Aslan (God) , "Is He safe?” Safe? said mr Beaver. “ Who said anything about safe “Course he isn’t safe . But he’s good. He’s the King I tell you.” What point is Lewis trying to make?
  2. How would you define God being just? How does God’s justice affect his other attributes?
  3. How is the cross the intersection of God’s justice and mercy?
  4. How does the story of the prodigal son highlight the goodness of God in Luke 15
  5. “We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.” Tim Keller. How would you connect these two seemingly opposite ideas to God’s character
  6. How’s God’s faithfulness shown in the book of Hosea? How did God ask Hosea to treat an unfaithful spouse?
  7. How do you take a inventory of your soul?
