1. The Mercy of God

  • Mercy is an infinite and inexhaustible energy within the divine nature which disposes God to be actively compassionate.
  • Mercy is when God, out of His lovingkindness, withholds punishment that we rightfully deserve because of our sin
  • Mercy is not getting what we deserve

Is there an area of your life that you need to experience God’s mercy?

2. The Grace of God

  • Grace is the good pleasure of God that inclines Him to bestow benefits upon the undeserving
  • Grace is undeserved favor

3. The Love of God

Reflections:

1. What, if any, new thoughts have come to mind about God during this series?

2. What’s the definition of mercy compared to the meaning of grace?

3. Is God’s mercy different in the old testament vs the new testament? Ps 103: 8-14

4. Is there a time in your life that someone offered you mercy?

5. How does grace destroys the view of dualism -good vs bad. Eph 2:8-9 , Romans 3:24

6. What’s the implication of grace and mercy being attributes of God rather than one time type events?

7. If God’s very nature and character is to love then His love must be infinite, all knowing, omnipresent.. How does 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 or John 15:12-13 bring this to life?
