We tend by a secret law of the soul to move toward our mental image of God

God is self existent

• He depends on nothing and no one for His existence.
• God is the uncaused cause
• He is the One in whom all other things find their source, existence, and continuance

1. Do you think the Bible is unified in it’s description of God’s nature and character? (66 books, 40 authors over 1500 yrs)

2. What does it mean that God is self existent?

3. Exodus 3:14 How does God describe himself? How are Jesus words “ I am” connect to this in John 18:4-8

4. If God is self sufficient, doesn’t need anything outside of Himself to exist, why would he create mankind?

5. How would you define God bing eternal? Isaiah 40:28, Revelation 22:13

6. Ecclesiastes 3:11 say “ he has put eternity in their hearts”. Do you think people have a gravity to seek something to worship or eternal?
